ABOUT CHARITY WHAN
Charity is a poet, writer and contemporary mixed media artist whose work is rooted in lived experience. Working across poetry, prose, and visual art, she explores love, loss, rupture, and transformation, guided by the belief that beauty can emerge through the immense power of destruction.
Her visual work is largely a form of contemporary poster décollage, using torn printed materials and layered fragments of imagery to excavate moments of narrative and emotion from cultural debris. These pieces are deeply inspired by European décollage, street poster culture, narrative collage, and punk/DIY aesthetics. Her work has been previously published in the Beyond the Veil Press America Does Not Exist anthology and The Argyle Literary Magazine.
Through a practice grounded in radical honesty, she uses her own life to invite deeper authenticity, reflection, and emotional openness in others.
