NEW RELEASE

The cover of Chaos by Poet Charity Whan is a collaged work, showing the poet strangling an acoustic guitar as an eye watches.

OUT NOW ON AMAZON AND INGRAMSPARK!

Chaos, Charity Whan's first full-length poetry collection, is built like a southern rock ballad - honest, aching, and unapologetically human.  Through poems, prose, and original photography, Chaos explores infidelity, longing, grief, and the fierce journey of a woman who chose truth over performance.

"

This book is a great read for anyone who has ever struggled with feeling caged in, stuck, or simply just navigating life's unavoidable heartbreaks...The uniquely poetic words and photography are unmatched.

All I can say is WOW. This is one of those rare books that doesn’t just tell a story. You feel it in your bones. Charity Whan’s voice grabbed me by the heart and refused to let go. She writes the kind of truth that stings because it’s real, and heals because it finally gives language to the things we’re afraid to say out loud. Nothing is polished for comfort. Nothing is softened. She lets her story stand exactly as it is and it’s incredibly beautiful.

I shed a few tears reading Chaos. It's a beautifully written collection about the feelings most of us have faced or will face in our lifetimes, myself included. She writes with passion, her heart and grace telling her story.

BIO

Poet Charity Whan sits bathed in red and orange light, seated at a bar that reflects her image.

Charity Whan is a poet, artist, and prime example of what happens when you let intrusive thoughts win. A former lifestyle blogger (RIP Curvy in Kansas City), she took a scenic detour into public service because poetry doesn’t pay student loans, only to return to her first loves: writing, art, and a little bit of chaos.

After publishing her first chapbook (In Search of The Music Man—available wherever Amazon tolerates lazy indie poets), Charity spent years wrestling with procrastination, existential dread, and the faint whisper that maybe she should have gone into STEM. Now, fully embracing her geriatric millennial era, she’s making a literary and artistic comeback, fueled by collages, poetry, and the occasional bad decision.

When she’s not romanticizing her midlife crisis through words and torn paper, Charity co-hosts The Brittersweet Podcast, a raw and funny exploration of life in the messy middle, streaming every Tuesday on Apple and Spotify.

You can typically find Charity drinking Two Buck Chuck in her best friend’s backyard, overanalyzing text messages, or letting her dog, Indy, gaslight her into extra treats. Witness the madness at @whanderwoman on Instagram, or subscribe to The Wild Beast on Substack for sneak peeks of new writing and info about upcoming collections.
